Artistic Abilities
Spring 2015
Artistic Abilities is a program that is run through the City of Fort Collins. I started working with this program for one of my practicum experiences through the Art Education program at CSU. This program gives art opportunities to adults with mental and physical disabilities. The first Artistic Abilities class I worked with met once a week for five weeks in the early weeks of the Spring semester and during my time teaching this class I was responsible for teaching 2-D lessons that were exciting and adaptable for all learning and creating styles and abilities. In addition to teaching art techniques to the students I was also responsible for keeping a blog updated with all of the lesson plans as well as documentation of the learning going on during the class time.
This Fall semester of 2015 I was given the wonderful opportunity to volunteer to once again work with Artistic Abilities. For the semester I was not responsible for creating lesson plans for the students, but rather I was there to spend time and work with the students that I had met the previous semester.
